SEK-Qatar Preschool 3

During our unit of inquiry ‘The Way We Play’, we had the change to have our first field trip and we visited My Gym. We learned many new games during our visit and we laughed a lot during all the fun activities we did together.

Build-A-Bear Workshop came to visit us here in the school. We learned new songs and games and got a change to make our own bears. It was really exciting to make our own bears and name them.

We had our Sports Day on Monday 22^nd and we all had so much fun! Grade 5 students had organized such a great event for us preschoolers. All the students enjoyed the day and it was lovely to have so many parents participating as well. Our Sports Day was full on action and having fun together.

In preschool 3 the   children enjoy using technology!

They have been learning how to do coding, by programming bee-bots to follow a path and get  to the desired shape, number or color. They were also using the same programming on the bee-bot app.

The have also learned how to use QR codes on the ipads. They choose the story they want to listen to, scan the QR code and then listen to the story.

We have started a new Unit of Inquiry in Preschool 3 called ‘Products” So far we have seen some fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and dairy products. We have also tasted dairy products such as yoghurt, cheese and butter. Last week we baked some bread, it was delicious! We have been learning about the animals on the farm and how milk and cheese are made.

This week, Preschool 3 also had a fantastic trip to the Sheikh Faisal Farm. We saw the horses on the farm, we petted and brushed them and saw a horse being washed, it was very exciting! We also enjoyed playing tennis, doing yoga and taking part in the Treasure Hunt in the Sheikh Faisal Museum! 

My Gym:

This week, Preschool 3 staff & students went to My Gym. The children were very excited as they sang songs on the bus journey there. The staff of My Gym had very nice gymnastic and Sports activities planned for the children. All children & staff thoroughly enjoyed there time at My Gym. The children were swinging across a Zip line and played many different group games!

International Day Performances:

Preschool 3 Class Teachers were very proud of the Preschool 3 children on the International Day. Preschool 3a performed ” Irelands Call” to celebrate the country Ireland and Preschool 3b performed the ” Hokey Pokey” Dance to celebrate the country U.S.A. Well done to all Preschool 3 students!

We have been watching our strawberry smart plant grow and grow, it is so big now that it almost reaches the light. Preschool 3 can’t wait to taste some delicious strawberries! We have also started our new unit about play. We have been using our social and communication skills to play

together and explore different toys and materials. So far we have played with water, sand, trains, dress up and the kitchen.

The children have been enjoying watching our strawberry smart plant grow. It has grown a lot in the last few days! We have also been taking care of our plants in the playground, watering them and watching them grow. We have been learning about sharing the planet as well, we learned that we share the planet with people, plants and animals.

In Preschool 3 the children have been observing their strawberry smart plant as the seeds have  sprouted and the plant begins to grow. Follow our photos below to see the plant’s progress!

Preschool 3 were very excited to begin our new unit about plants. Both the Giraffe class and the cheeky monkey class have been busy planting seeds! We have also created garden paintings with the Art Teacher,  Ms. Catherine.

During the months of November and December Preschol 3 have been busy doing lots of different activities. Giraffe class have been using a colour sorting set to sort through all the colours that they have learned. They have also enjoyed their visits to the library to read books with Mr. Ignacio. Cheeky Monkeys class have been doing a lot of art work including colouring and painting!
